Alan Alexander joined NBT Bank in September 2015. He has worked in the Banking Industry since 1993 and has over 27 years of commercial banking experience. He is currently the Regional Commercial Banking Manager for NBT’s Capital Region footprint. Mr. Alexander is responsible for high-level development, implementation, and oversight of Capital Region commercial lending strategies at NBT Bank. Prior to joining NBT Bank, he served as senior relationship manager for Key Bank’s Commercial Banking Division and Vice President at KeyBanc Capital Markets.

A resident of Delmar, Mr. Alexander earned his master’s degree from the University at Albany and bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. He is currently treasurer and board member of the Advance Albany County Alliance Local Development Corporation, board member of the Albany County Business Development Corporation, board member for the United Way of the Greater Capital Region., and board member for Unity Lutheran Church. He also serves as Chairman of NBT’s Inclusion Roundtable, a cross-sectional group representing employees from diverse geographies, tenure, lines of business, gender, culture, race and more. The Inclusion Roundtable is responsible for guiding decision making when it comes to celebrating, educating and developing plans for the company’s Diversity and Inclusion mission.
