The Albany County Arts and Culture Grant Program is a funding initiative designed to support creative projects that enrich the cultural landscape of Albany County. This program provides grants to artists, nonprofit organizations, and community groups, fostering artistic innovation, historical preservation, and community engagement through the arts.

Administered by the Albany County Arts and Culture Advisory Council, this program is committed to promoting diverse cultural expressions, strengthening local arts institutions, and ensuring that all residents have access to meaningful artistic experiences.


Who Can Apply?

The grant program is open to:

  • Individual artists and creators
  • Nonprofit cultural organizations
  • Community groups and collectives
  • Educational institutions with an arts and culture focus
  • Local or municipal government organizations

Eligible Projects

Grants are available for a wide range of artistic and cultural initiatives, including but not limited to:

  • Public art installations
  • Cultural festivals and community events
  • Educational arts workshops and programs
  • Artist residencies and fellowships
  • Historical and cultural preservation projects

To apply for the Arts and Culture Grant Program, interested individuals and organizations must complete and submit the official grant application, which is available below. 

Completed applications should be submitted via email to SPaulsen@advancealbanycounty.com no later than 4:00PM on Monday, March 31st 2025


About the Arts and Culture Advisory Council

The Albany County Arts and Culture Advisory Council was established by Albany County Executive, Daniel P. McCoy to oversee the administration of the grant program and to ensure funding is distributed fairly and effectively. Comprised of professionals from the arts, nonprofit, and business sectors, the council is responsible for reviewing grant applications, evaluating project impact, and making funding recommendations.
